Yuseong Market is a regular traditional market held every 5 days in Jangdae-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon Metropolitan City. Since its first opening on October 15, 1916, it has thrived around the market building at 191 Jangdae-dong, forming a bustling traditional market on the 4th, 9th, 14th, 19th, 24th, and 29th of each month. Now, it is recognized as a direct trading marketplace where agricultural products from nearby cities and counties including Gongju, Yeongi, Nonsan, Geumsan, and Okcheon meet numerous customers from Daejeon and beyond. The market covers approximately 1,980㎡ with about 40 shops, extending into vacant lots and alleys. Livestock are traded at the market entrance behind the Jangdae-dong community office, followed inside by stalls selling fish, vegetables, clothing, and kitchenware in order. Yuseong’s specialties include Hakha sweet potatoes and Saedong lettuce. Especially, Yuseong pears are famous nationwide for their excellent taste.
The Korea Institute of Fusion Energy is a specialized research institution for nuclear fusion energy located in Eoeun-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. Daejeon Expo Science Park was created to utilize the facilities and site of the '93 Daejeon World Expo, the first international specialized expo accredited by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) in Korea, as a venue for public science education. The park features the Hanbit Tower, which symbolizes a ray of light connecting the wise past with the present and future. The 93-meter-high Hanbit Tower, themed on science and space, serves as an observatory offering views of the park and Daejeon city. In front of Hanbit Tower is the Mulbit Square music fountain, which leads to Expo Bridge and provides exciting music and fountain shows for visitors. During the night operations, a spectacular media facade is displayed against the backdrop of Hanbit Tower, featuring colorful video projections using special lighting.
한밭교육박물관은 1992년 7월 10일 교육부의 승인을 받아, 대지 4,198㎡에 연건축면적 2,195㎡으로 9개의 전시실과 3개의 전시장, 야외 전시장 그리고 각종 부대시설을 갖추고 옛날에 사용하던 교과서를 비롯하여 교육관련 도서, 교육학습기록, 교원학생서장, 사무용품 등 교육관련유물 총 27,000여점의 자료를 보존, 전시하고 교육과정과 연계하여 학생들의 학습장으로 활용되도록 운영하고 있는 교육박물관이다.
