Bundang Children's Astronomical Observatory aims to inspire children's interest and curiosity in space science and natural science through celestial observation facilities and astronomical research activities, fostering their ability to think creatively and solve given problems. To this end, Bundang Children's Astronomical Observatory operates various educational programs developed through research and consultation with a professional advisory committee from different social sectors and Yonsei University College of Science practitioners. Going forward, it plans to develop experiential and in-depth educational programs to provide children with more diverse and profound astronomy and natural science educational services. The Children's Astronomical Observatory programs provide correct information about natural science to children, guiding them to view natural science properly, and not only deliver knowledge but also help children have dreams and hopes for the future, leading them to become valuable talents later in life.

The Astro Camp was established to encourage young children to take an interest in space and natural science and to develop creative problem-solving skills. The Children's Observatory provides a wide range of educational programs developed by expert educators from diverse fields of majors at Yonsei University. In the future, the observatory hopes to continue to expand its experience-centered, in-depth educational programs to help children reach a better understanding of astronomy and natural science principles. Programs focus not only on providing children with accurate information, but also seek to encourage participants to be self-motivated thinkers.

Chungnyeol Seowon began as Chungnyeolsa Shrine, established in 1576 (9th year of King Seonjo) by local Confucian scholars to commemorate the scholarship, virtue, and loyal integrity of Jeong Mong-ju (鄭夢周, 1337–1392) and Jo Gwang-jo (趙光祖, 1482–1520). Chungnyeolsa was originally built in Jukjeon, the area between the tombs of Jeong Mong-ju and Jo Gwang-jo. After being destroyed by fire during the Japanese invasion of Korea, it was relocated to Mohyeon-eup, where Jeong Mong-ju’s tomb is, and reconstruction began in 1605 (38th year of King Seonjo) by Gyeonggi provincial inspector Lee Jeong-gu and Yongin chief magistrate Jeong Jong-seon. By 1608, it was completed with a shrine of three rooms, East and West dormitories of two rooms each, and a three-room gate tower crowned by a lecture hall. At that time, Jo Gwang-jo's memorial tablet was moved to the newly established Simgok Seowon. In 1608, during King Gwanghaegun’s reign, it was officially titled Chungnyeol Seowon by royal decree, and later Jeong Mong-ju’s grandson Jeong Bo and the loyalist Lee Si-jik, who served during the Byeongja Horan, were also enshrined. It was abolished in 1871 by Heungseon Daewongun’s order to close seowon, then the shrine was rebuilt in 1911, the lecture hall restored in 1956, and the entire complex renovated and newly constructed in 1972 to the present.
