📍 Gyeonggi-do Yongin-si Giheung-gu Mabuk-ro 119-8 (Mabuk-dong)
Jang Ukjin Old House is where Jang Ukjin (1917–1990), a first-generation Korean Western painter, lived and worked from 1986 until his death in 1990. The old house is a late Joseon Dynasty traditional Gyeonggi-do style T-shaped house, composed of an inner quarters, a guest quarters, and a storage building (gwang). Jang himself repaired it and used it as his studio and residence. On the premises, there is also a tea house called 'Jibunheon', which is a remodeled hanok. The hanok is currently managed by the Jang Ukjin Art and Culture Foundation established by his family. Behind the hanok is a two-story Western-style house of about 50 pyeong, designed and built by Jang based on the brick house he painted in his 1953 work 'Landscape with a Car.' It is now used as an exhibition hall.
