Suyeong-gu of Busan is a historical district nestled between Geumnyeonsan Mountain and Gwangalli Beach. It was the site of the Gyeongsang Jwado Marine Headquarters during the Joseon dynasty. In fact, its name 'Suyeong' was derived from 'Sugunjeoldosayeong,' meaning 'marine headquarters.' The Suyeong Sajeok Park was established in commemoration of the spirit of the Suyeong residents. It is designed to show their maritime lifestyle.

Suyeong-gu is a region with a long history and tradition, known for its outstanding natural scenery. Behind it lies the picturesque Geumryeonsan Mountain, and in front is Gwangalli Beach, making it a typical baesan imhae (mountain behind, sea in front) scenic area. During the Joseon Dynasty, it was a militarily important area housing the Gyeongsangjwado Naval Commander’s Office, and the name Suyeong originated as an abbreviation of this naval command and is now established as a place name. Suyeong Park is located on the site of the Gyeongsangjwado Naval Commander’s Headquarters, which oversaw the four naval bases on the southern coast during the Joseon period. Although the fortress no longer exists, related historic remains remain in Suyeong Park. Within the park are Cultural Heritage Type 1 sites such as the South Gate of the Gyeongsangjwado Naval Fortress, two monuments including the 25 Volunteer Corps, four intangible heritages such as Suyeong Noryeong, two natural monuments including the Korean pine and euonymus trees, and five non-designated national heritage sites including the shrine of General An Yong-bok. The Suyeong Folk Art Center preserves and manages these. The shrine of General An Yong-bok, who secured acknowledgment from the Japanese that Dokdo is Korean territory, and the Memorial Tower for the Loyal Spirits, along with the Song Grandma Shrine and the Cho Grandpa Shrine, represent the soul of the Suyeong people. It is a historic and educational site where one can see Busan’s folklore in one place. Though a historic symbolic heritage park, it is also a familiar light walking space for citizens, with its wooded, cool trails making it an ideal urban healing spot.

B-Con Ground combines the B from Busan (BUSAN) and CON from container (CONTAIN), meaning "Containing Busan." It is a space newly designed and regenerated under the Suyeong overpass in Busan, transforming the previously underutilized area. This living complex cultural space connects divided and underdeveloped areas cut off by the overpass and provides much-needed cultural facilities. Created as a local revitalization program, it links neglected areas with cultural infrastructure, regional regeneration, existing local infrastructure, and tourism networks to generate economic synergy. The space includes Community Ground, Family Deck, B-Con Square, Shopping Ground, Playground, and Art Gallery. Community Ground is available for small meetings, education, and seminars. Family Deck houses creative activities and exhibitions by Busan disabled artists. Shopping Ground contains cafes and retail stores. Playground hosts various events for Busan citizens. Art Gallery is home to Busan social venture companies and operates art sales, exhibitions, and related cultural programs.

B-Con Ground is a cultural complex in Busan, built by utilizing the empty space under an overpass. The complex is a cultural hub offering various exhibitions, cultural events, activities, and creative spaces for visitors. From playground and shopping ground to cafes, restaurants, art galleries, and a family deck, it truly offers all under one roof. Near Mangmi Dangil, Suyeong Sajik Park is established, making it a tourist destination suitable for historical site viewing and healing.
