Jang Gye-hyang Cultural Experience Education Center is a space for educating and sharing the spirit and achievements of Lady Jang Gye-hyang, a virtuous woman of high status. Lady Jang Gye-hyang left the oldest extant Korean cookbook written in Hangul for her descendants. This cookbook serves as a guide for traditional food research that reflects the dietary life and culture of the Yangban class during the mid to late Joseon Dynasty, and it is a textbook for related experts, holding great dictionary value due to its accurate and diverse methodology and orthography. More than 350 years ago, Lady Jang Gye-hyang, a woman from a noble family living in the Yeongyang region, sincerely wrote every word with care to faithfully carry on her family's traditions for future generations. It is the first cookbook written by a woman in East Asia and also the first cookbook written in Hangul. The education center offers various experiences including the Eumsik Dimibang Academy, cooking experiences, and traditional food tasting experiences.
