Minjujisan⛰️ 1242 m

Introduction

[Mountain holding the secret of Samdu Maitreya Buddha] Minjujisan (1241.7m) spans three provinces: Chungbuk, Gyeongbuk, and Jeonbuk. To the east, Seokgibong and Samdobong, and to the north, Gakhosan rise like wings on either side, displaying a majestic spirit and overlooking the Baekdudaegan mountain range. It was recorded as Baegunsan (White Cloud Mountain) in 'Dongguk Yeoji Seungnam' and 'Daedongyeojido,' but was renamed Minjujisan during the Japanese colonial period. The hiking trail on the Chungcheong-do side, centered around Mulhan Valley, is the longest and most beautiful on Minjujisan. The valleys flowing down from four peaks over 1000 meters, including Samdobong, all converge into Mulhan Valley, resulting in abundant water flow and scenic beauty. Notable sights in Mulhan Valley include Yongso near Hwangryongsa Temple, Okso Waterfall, Uiyonggol Waterfall, and Eumjugol Waterfall (Mini Mini Waterfall). The ridge leading from Samdobong and Seokgibong to the summit of Minjujisan is densely covered with underbrush, azaleas, and rhododendrons, creating a spectacular view.
