Located in Yeongdo-gu, Busan, Yeongdo Bridge is one of Busan's representative landmarks and an important bridge connecting Yeongdo and the Busan mainland. Opened in 1973, this bridge is a historic structure that has been part of Busan's industrial development and has stood with the local people for many years. The most distinctive feature of Yeongdo Bridge is its rotating pier structure, which allows the bridge to open at scheduled times for large ships to pass through. It is also famous for its beautiful night view, as the bridge and its surroundings are illuminated at night, creating a romantic atmosphere. Crossing Yeongdo Bridge offers views of the sea alongside Busan Port, making it a great spot to experience the maritime city of Busan. Yeongdo Bridge stands as a symbolic place encompassing Busan's history, industry, and beautiful scenery.
Namhang Market was formed in the 1960s as people began to gather and live in Yeongdo, Busan, following the Korean War (6.25). It boasts the third-largest scale in Busan. With over 60 years of tradition, Namhang Market combines the charm of a traditional market with modern and comfortable facilities, making shopping convenient. It mainly handles agricultural products, seafood, and livestock products that are locally delivered or directly grown. The market has a balanced distribution of stores selling side dishes like fish cakes and kimchi, daily necessities, clothing, and miscellaneous goods. Many visitors come because good products can be purchased at low prices. Selected in 2013 for the cultural tourism market development project, it has conducted various cultural activities, hosting market music festivals and market theater festivals, transforming the market into a cultural space where local residents and merchants can interact. It is also good to visit along with the famous Samjin Fish Cake shop nearby.
Busan Bridge is a bridge connecting Bongnae-dong in Yeongdo-gu and Daegyo-dong in Jung-gu, Busan Metropolitan City. Built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Busan Port, it was established to enable large cargo transport and share traffic volume at a time when Yeongdo Bridge, the only bridge in Yeongdo, faced serious congestion. Along with Yeongdo Bridge, completed in 1934, it serves as an artery connecting Yeongdo and inland Busan and as a transportation route promoting Busan's industry. It is famous as the country's first three-span continuous arch bridge completed entirely with domestic technology and materials, overcoming many difficulties. Construction began in October 1976 and was completed on January 30, 1981, becoming a new landmark in Busan that functions as an industrial and port road capable of rapidly handling cargo volume in the Yeongdo area, which grew with the machinery industrial complex and Sinheung Port.
