Yeongdeok Sunrise Park is a coastal natural park created along the 64km coastal road connecting Ganggu-myeon and Chuksan-myeon. After a fire in 1997 burned not only the coastline but also the nearby mountain area, the devastated land was restored, focusing on creating a natural park using eco-friendly materials with easy sea access. The park features a front view of the blue sea, a wide grassland behind, and a pine forest plantation, forming an open space. Around 1,500 wooden steps connect gazebos and weave the coastal road to the sea, forming a beautiful walking trail. There are two observation decks along the trail, offering excellent photography spots with panoramic views of the East Sea. Additionally, the park's landmark, the Changpomal Lighthouse, is harmoniously installed with the surrounding natural scenery. Due to its attraction of offering the clearest and most beautiful sunrise views, it draws visitors not only on New Year's Day but also on weekdays for sunrise viewing and leisurely rest.
Located along the coast where the wind is strong throughout the year, the Yeongdeok Wind Power Complex was built in Changpo-ri, Yeongdeok-eup, Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. It is situated on the hill above Yeongdeok's famous tourist site, Haemaji Park. The area measures 166,117㎡ and contains 24 wind turbines producing an annual output of 96,680 MWh, enough to power about 20,000 households, which equals the total annual electricity consumption of Yeongdeok residents. Inside the complex are the Yeongdeok Renewable Energy Center, Windmill Park, children's playground, aircraft exhibition hall, and an auto camping site. It is also connected to Yeongdeok Blue Road Course A, offering trekking with views of the East Sea. The turbines, about 80m tall with each blade measuring 41m long, are located on a hill overlooking the sea and have become a rising sunrise attraction. Nearby tourist spots include Ganggu Port, Samsa Marine Park, and Yeongdeok Snow Crab Original Village.
Ganggu Port is the largest port in Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and is famous for snow crab. During snow crab season from November to April or May of the following year, numerous snow crab fishing boats gather here. A snow crab auction hall operates, and the restaurant area called 'Snow Crab Street' extends for 3 km. Around Snow Crab Street, there are the Ganggu Fisheries Cooperative Auction Hall and direct snow crab sales centers where you can purchase snow crab directly. Every year during snow crab season, the Yeongdeok Snow Crab Festival is held in the Ganggu Port area, attracting more visitors than usual to Ganggu Port Snow Crab Street.
Jangsa Beach is located along National Route 7, famous for its coastal drive course. The sand on the white sandy beach is coarse and does not stick to the body, making it ideal for walking barefoot or sunbathing. Additionally, its sunrise is considered one of the best in the country. The shallow water depth of 1.3m allows for safe swimming and clam digging, providing enjoyment. It is also equipped with marine leisure facilities such as water skiing, banana boats, and jet skiing, making it suitable as a summer resort. Five minutes from the beach is Bu-gyeong Oncheon, known for its excellent water quality. Nearby are the Jangsa Landing Operation Victory Memorial Park and Memorial Hall, which serve as educational sites for students to learn about the Korean War and the history of division.
