Hwangje Neungi Mushroom Baeksuk is a baeksuk specialty restaurant located in Ohhak-dong, Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi-do. It is housed in a standalone building with a spacious and comfortable interior and private rooms. The signature dish, Special Emperor Seafood Soup, features a chicken topped with octopus, small octopus, abalone, shrimp, and neungi mushrooms. All seafood is freshly taken from the tank upon order and cooked fresh. The chicken uses carefully selected native breed chicken, cooked tenderly. The octopus and small octopus are fresh and tender with a soft chewy texture and savory flavor even when cut into large pieces. The shrimp is plump, and the neungi mushrooms provide a chewy texture with a subtle aroma that stimulates the appetite. The broth is made with various medicinal herbs and neungi mushrooms, offering a refreshing, savory, and rich umami taste. Buckwheat pancakes are chewy and filled with spicy kimchi, and the dumplings have green skins with a faint neungi aroma and are fully stuffed. Six kinds of side dishes are served lightly seasoned and clean tasting. The porridge cooked with leftover broth contains glutinous rice and nuts, adding a savory richness. Within 5km are numerous attractions including Lakeside Park, Yongma Waterfall Park, Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail, and cultural heritage royal tombs.
