Haechon, located in Songhyeon-ri, Sonyang-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do, is a famous restaurant in Yangyang known for its soup made with wild mussels (seop, teolgeokpandamchi). Featured on SBS Live Today and Olive Channel's Wednesday Gourmet, the wild mussels are smaller and less abundant than farmed ones but offer a rare ocean flavor. Open from early morning, it is a great place for breakfast when staying near Sokcho or Yangyang. Grilled flounder, served as one of the standard side dishes with seopguk, is another specialty. The thick and crispy seop buchimgae is also popular. Haechon serves only live seafood daily and may close if seop is unavailable due to marine weather or other reasons. Nearby attractions include Yangyang Market, Yangyang Namdaecheon, and Junggwangjeong Beach.
