Nambukcheon Sports Park, decorated with a youthful sensibility, offers bicycle paths and jogging courses among vividly colored sculptures, making it a great place for walking and exercising. Eohwawon, a flower garden created to attract local residents and tourists, blooms spectacularly in spring and has become a symbol of the park. The sight of live salmon swimming in groups through the park’s waterways is also a marvel. With sports facilities and various attractions, Nambukcheon Sports Park is becoming a valuable tourist destination easily accessible not only to locals but also to visitors.

The Donghae Life Resources Center, under the Korea Fisheries Resources Agency Donghae Headquarters, carries out projects such as seed cultivation, breeding, release, and the creation of natural salmon spawning grounds to preserve salmon, a major migratory fish species on the East Coast. Over 70% of Korean salmon are born in Namdaecheon, Yangyang, where the center is located, grow in the North Pacific for 3 to 4 years, and then return to Namdaecheon to spawn. However, due to river destruction, the number of returning salmon is decreasing, so the center performs artificial fertilization directly and raises the hatched young salmon for about five months before releasing them into Namdaecheon. The salmon ecology experience center within the facility provides detailed information on the hatching and growth process, as well as the migratory routes of salmon. At the salmon rearing building, visitors can observe young salmon hatched through artificial fertilization eating and growing. The center operates ecological experience programs around October to November for welcoming spawning salmon, and around February to March for sending off young salmon. Visitors have the opportunity to touch salmon that have returned to their home and release young salmon from water containers into streams, allowing close observation of salmon ecology.

This is a children's playground park created along the Namdaecheon riverside. There is a Salmon Ecological Park just below, making it convenient to visit both together. First, a wide grass field is laid out along the riverbank, and next to it, there are more than ten play facilities suitable for elementary school children. Upon entering the park, the first thing that catches the eye is a sculpture displaying the consonants and vowels of Songi Sculpture Park arranged in a row and painted in rainbow colors, popular as a photo zone. The play facilities include slides, seesaws, a small zipline, net climbing, and wooden stepping stones, all designed to let children play with wood, soil, and sand, making it nature-friendly.
