Cheonseong Mountain⛰️ 920 m

Introduction

Cheonseong Mountain is described as "steep ridges piled up and deep valleys like caves (連峰疊 洞府深邃)." From the Wongsang side, it appears as a simple and majestic single mountain with sheer cliffs, while from the Yangsan side, several vigorous ridges extend with numerous rocky peaks atop them. The valleys between the ridges are filled with rocky streams, pools, and ponds. This description from the perfectly fits this famous mountain with excellent Bongmanmi and Gyeryumi. The northern peak area (about 830m), once labeled "Cheonseong Mountain" on old maps, is a paradise of silver grass. The high moorlands scattered here are home to rare flora and fauna such as the endangered tail salamander and sticky pitcher plant, making it a unique area in the upper Beopsu Valley, which flows in a T-shape. It is also known as the place where the sunrise can be seen first in this land. The view is excellent, with clear sights of the nine major peaks of the Yeongnam Alps, Busan's Geumjeong Mountain to the south, and even distant mountains like Gimhae's Sineosan and Masan's Muhaksan. The name Cheonseong Mountain originates from the legend that Monk Wonhyo led a thousand beings into the mountain to become saints. Another theory suggests that the monks who saved their lives by throwing down their dining tables and later visited were Tang Dynasty monks, but this seems to be a playful fabrication involving Wonhyo, who never went to Tang. The main peak was known as Wonhyo Mountain until recently.
