중앙선 용문역에서 동북쪽으로 약 9km정도 떨어진 용문산 중턱에 있는 ‘용문사’는 신라 신덕왕 2년(913) 에 대경대사가 지었다. 세종대왕 때 다시 지어 두 개의 불상과 여덟 개의 보살상을 모셨다. 6.25사변으로 많이 파괴되었으나, 현재 보수하여 대웅전과 종각 등 세 개의 부속건물이 있다.

Jungwonsan (799.8m), located just east of Yongmunsan, is surrounded by beautiful valleys such as Jogye and Yonggyegol to the west and Jungwon Valley to the east, making it a popular family hiking destination visited by many summer vacationers. From the Jungwon Valley parking lot, a 15-minute walk along the valley path leads to the three-tiered Jungwon Waterfall, which makes a thunderous water sound. Although it is less than 10 meters high, it is surrounded by dramatic cliffs resembling a folding screen, creating a magnificent view. Below the waterfall, whose water streams resemble a shy maiden's hair ribbon, lies a wide and deep pond. Continuing along the trail beneath the dense forest tunnel past the waterfall, you reach Chima Waterfall, where the water noise is loud as if pouring beads. The first waterfall from the entrance, representing the valley, is the Jungwon Waterfall, a three-tiered waterfall about 10 meters high surrounded by rocky cliffs and outstanding scenery. The Chima Waterfall below the lush forest path is named for the white foam that looks like an opened skirt when the water hits the rock, and there is a clear natural swimming pool beneath the waterfall. To get there, take the bus bound for Jungwon-ri from Yongmunsan intercity bus terminal on the way to Yongmunsa, get off at the last stop, or drive about 10 km from Yangpyeong toward Yongmun on National Road 6, where you will see the sign for Yongmunsan Tourist Complex. From the entrance to Yongmunsa, take the 4th county road to the right at Deokchon Samgeori toward Johyeon-ri for another 6 km to the valley entrance. Parking is available at Jungwon Valley parking lot.

산음은 '산그늘' 이라는 뜻으로 폭산, 봉미산, 소리산, 싸리봉 등의 준봉들에 사방으로 둘러싸여 항상 산그늘에 있다하여 붙여진 지명이다. 휴양림계곡을 따라 참나무류, 층층나무, 물푸레나무, 복자기나무, 소나무, 다래나무, 철쭉나무 등 다양한 수종의 원시혼효림과 낙엽송, 자작나무, 잣나무 등의 인공림이 산림생태계를 구성하고 있으며 숲에서 흐르는 맑은 물과 반딧불, 곤줄박이, 동고비, 박새, 직박구리, 까막딱다구리, 맷돼지, 고라니, 수달 등 다양한 야생동물이 자연과 더불어 살아가는 아름다운 모습을 보여주고 있다.
