[Geumsan of Honam with rocky peaks and waterfalls] Daedunsan is a mountain located between Unju-myeon in Wanju-gun, Jeonbuk, Beolgok-myeon in Nonsan-si, Chungnam, and Jinsan-myeon in Geumsan-gun. It is designated as a provincial park by both Jeonbuk and Chungnam. Centered around its highest peak, Macheondae, the mountain features numerous uniquely shaped rocky formations that stand proudly, and its distant mountain silhouette is so outstanding that it is aptly called the 'Geumgang of Honam.' Daedunsan has two contrasting faces to the south and north, reflected in its hiking trails. The Wanju (south) side is characterized by rocky peaks resembling flags and spears forming a stone forest that naturally impresses visitors. Attractions such as the cable car and Geumgang Cloud Bridge, famous features of Daedunsan, draw many tourists. In contrast, the Nonsan (north) side has a deep forest with canyons, richer water flow, and spectacular waterfalls. The first waterfall in Gunjigol, Hwarang Waterfall, and Geumgang Waterfall are so refreshing that visitors find it hard to stay for even ten minutes in front of them, making it an excellent summer retreat.
