Jakcheonjeong Valley is located 5 ri south of Hyun at the foot of Buro Mountain’s southern slope and originates from several ri near Chwiseo Mountain. The flat rocks shine with the light of fireflies, making it look like a jade plate when viewed. At the stream, a rock is hollowed like a pool, resembling a cup filling with alcohol, which is why it is named Jakcheonjeong Valley (Jakgwaecheon). From here, it flows downward into Namcheon and then into Ulsan Taehwajin. The valley is a gorge between gigantic granite mountains, Oksan and Bonghwasan, containing a lot of fluorite (used as raw material for glass) in the granite. The amethyst vein also connects to this fluorite mother stone. Following this mother stone downward, amethyst pockets are formed inside the solid granite. It is a famous site holding historical significance as the place where loyalist Jeong Mong-ju of the Goryeo dynasty read his writings and as the center of the local 3.1 Movement in Eonyang.
Eonyang Hyanggyo is said to have originally been established under Banwol Mountain. Records show it was relocated several times, and in the 22nd year of King Sukjong's reign (1696), Provincial Governor Kim Jeong-ha moved it to its current location, establishing only the Munmyo (Confucian shrine) area. In the 26th year of King Sukjong's reign (1700), Myeongnyundang, Dongjae, and Seojae buildings were constructed. It was renovated in 1859, 1870, and 1900. Until 1900, the Munmyo area had east and west offices, which no longer remain. Eonyang Hyanggyo features the general layout of a local hyanggyo, but with the Daeseongjeon and Myeongnyundang axes misaligned. Daeseongjeon is a double-eaved gabled-roof building with three bays on both the front and sides, built in the Ikko style. Eonyang Hyanggyo holds the Seokjeon Daeje rites on the 11th day of the 4th lunar month (Confucius's death anniversary) and the 27th day of the 8th lunar month (Confucius's birth anniversary). The Sakmang Bunhyang rite on the first day of each lunar month allows public participation. Additionally, it conducts events such as the Giroyeon and coming-of-age ceremonies. The Yurimhwaegwan serves as a facility for learning and experiencing traditional culture and good customs, promoting communication and harmony among local Confucian scholars, and providing etiquette education, traditional culture experiences, and character education for elementary, middle, and high school students in the area.

Eonyang Eupseong is a fortress uniquely built in a perfect square shape on flat land, which is very rare in Korea. Since the Three Kingdoms period, there was an earthen fortress, with stone walls first constructed in 1500 (6th year of Yeonsangun). The fortress was destroyed during the Japanese invasions of 1592 and was rebuilt in 1617 (9th year of Gwanghaegun). The existing fortress forms a rectangle of 380 meters on the north and south sides, with a circumference of 1,520 meters. The fortress is a typical eupseong, featuring east, west, south, and north gates with ogseong structures in the middle of each side, four corner pavilions (gakru), and eight chi (defense platforms), two on each side between the gates and pavilions. Historically, it was a strategically important fortress located at the transportation hub connecting Gyeongju, Ulsan, Miryang, and Yangsan in the old Eonyang region. Eonyang Eupseong demonstrates construction methods from the 14th to 15th centuries when important fortresses began to be built nationwide, serving as a vital source illustrating the evolution of fortress construction from the late Goryeo to early Joseon periods.
