일반인들에게 잘 알려지지 않은 죽변항 북쪽에 자리한 후정해수욕장은 바닷가에 인접한 송림과 잘 어우러진 아름다운 해수욕장이다. 백사장과 바위섬이 있고 해안가 옆 송림이 있어 이곳에 텐트를 치면 뜨거운 태양빛도 피할 수 있고 한눈에 펼쳐진 동해바다를 조망할 수 있다. 후정해수욕장은 더없이 펼쳐진 백사장을 거닐 수 있고, 파도가 잔잔한 날이면 백사장에서 백합 조개 잡기와 바다낚시를 할 수 있는 곳이다.
