Taebaek Dakgalbi is a renowned restaurant specializing in Mul Dakgalbi, a local dish of Taebaek. This place specializes in Taebaek-style dakgalbi, where marinated chicken and various vegetables are boiled in broth. The method of boiling with water originated in Taebaek, and during the heyday of the mining industry, miners used this dish to relieve their daily fatigue and soothe homesickness, enjoying its spicy and mild broth along with chewy dakgalbi, making it a traditional food of Taebaek. Taebaek Dakgalbi features a spicy yet mild flavor, made with fresh chicken and seasonal vegetables such as perilla leaves, napa cabbage, crown daisy, and young radish greens. During the season when shepherd's purse is available, it is generously added as well. The restaurant offers both floor seating and regular seating so guests can choose comfortably. It is frequently recommended on programs introducing popular restaurants and is conveniently located near Hwangji Pond.
