The Mongsan-ri Seokga Yeorae Seated Statue is located at san 182, Mongsan-ri, Nam-myeon. The exact period of this work is unknown, but based on the statue's appearance, it is presumed to be from the Unified Silla period. It is situated at the site of Juksa Temple at the foothills of Cheonggye Mountain in Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do. The entire height is 1.03 meters and it is made of granite. It was designated a Chungcheongnam-do cultural asset on November 19, 1986, and is currently managed by Taean-gun. The statue is seated with clothes draped over both shoulders, with both feet raised onto the knees so the soles of the feet face upward. The right hand rests on the knee with fingertips pointing downward, and the left hand is placed on the left knee with the palm facing upward. Behind the statue is a flame-patterned boat-shaped halo, separated inside into a head halo and body halo by two thick lines. The head halo is carved with overlapping lotus flowers, and between the head and body halos on both sides are cloud patterns with flying celestial beings. The halo clearly shows the carving techniques of the Unified Silla period. The base's lower part is carved with downward-facing lotus petals, and the upper part with fully bloomed lotus petals. The lotus pattern includes layered petals and leaves in between, also characteristic of the base decoration of the Unified Silla period.
