Located on the way to Taean Peninsula after exiting the Seohaean Expressway. In Taean-eup, where travelers heading to the sea often rush by, there is the Western Market filled with warm smiles and generous hospitality. Fresh seafood from the Taean sea is available, as well as various spring greens like shepherd's purse, mugwort, and water parsley handpicked by grandmothers waiting quietly for customers. There are also long-established eateries hidden in every corner. At this traditional market, where almost everything you need is available, you can fill your shopping basket with the flavors of Taean's spring. In the past, the market was held on the 3rd and 8th day of each month, but now it has transformed into a permanent market with no fixed market days. With about 200 stores and 90 street vendors spread across several alleys, it welcomes visitors. Food is a must during a tour of the market alleys. The Western Market's history began around 1970, centered around the bus terminal, and some restaurants from that time still remain serving guests today.
