영흥수목원은 영흥숲공원이 둘러싸고 있는 산지 지형을 살려 조성된 식물원이다. 수목원에 들어서면 푸른 잔디밭과 다양한 테마의 숲과 공원을 볼 수 있고 이곳의 랜드마크인 온실에는 이국적인 느낌을 주는 독특한 식물을 볼 수 있다. 또한 시민들이 쉬어갈 수 있는 방문자센터에서는 수목원을 조망하며 카페를 이용하거나 다양한 전시와 교육 프로그램을 볼 수 있다. 또한 일정 기간 동안 야간개장을 운영하는데 해가 질 무렵에 조명과 어우러진 수목원의 또 다른 매력을 느낄 수 있다.
