Ilwol Arboretum | Attraction Guide | K-Travel Mate

Ilwol Arboretum, an ecological landmark and urban hub arboretum in Suwon-si, opened in May 2023. It holds 2,106 species, 52,551 plants, and 429,618 individuals. Located within Ilwol Park, it features 16 different gardens including Dasan Garden, Forest Garden, Conifer Garden, Ecological Observation Garden, Grass Garden, Dry Garden, Exhibition Greenhouse, Decorative Garden, Shrub Garden, and Grassland Garden. The arboretum collects, propagates, and exhibits plants while conducting species conservation, various academic research based on collected plants, and education connecting nature and people. It also promotes recreation, self-development, leisure for citizens, biodiversity conservation cooperation, and information exchange. It operates two daily tour programs with forest healing activities like forest gymnastics, forest walking, and meditation. Additionally, it runs a native crop garden management program.
