In Suwon, special exploration sites coexist with Hwaseong Fortress. Visitors can tour Haewoojae, which opened a new horizon in Korean restroom architecture, then stroll through Manseok Park centered around Manseokgeo, a water facility built during the Joseon era under King Jeongjo. The walk continues to Wolhwawon, a traditional Chinese garden. Experiencing the evening scenery of Na Hye-seok Street, themed around the life and works of Korea’s first female painter Na Hye-seok, is also special.

Wolhwawon is a traditional Chinese garden in Guangdong style located on the west side of Hyowon Park in Gyeonggi-do. It was created following a friendship exchange agreement between Gyeonggi-do and Guangdong Province, China. Construction began on June 15, 2005, and it opened on April 17, 2006. Designed to harmonize buildings and the garden, it reflects the characteristics of traditional Guangdong region gardens. The garden is visible through windows, and the rear garden features an artificial mountain made of soil and a man-made lake. Around the lake are an artificial waterfall and a boat-shaped pavilion. The buildings were constructed using white powder, blue bricks, and wood in the traditional Guangdong style, with Chinese poetry and inscriptions engraved throughout. Wooden, brick, and lime carvings were used at roof joints.
Na Hye-seok Street is a cultural street about 300 meters long created to honor the achievements of Jeongwol Na Hye-seok, the first Korean female Western-style painter born in Suwon. It is a space connecting the Cultural Arts Center, Hyowon Park, and an outdoor music hall. The street features a fountain within the road, a restroom with music, and well-maintained landscaping along a pedestrian-only road. With various attractions such as street performances and numerous specialized restaurants nearby, it is a street where culture and social encounters coexist, attracting many visitors.
