Bakjido and Banwoldo are islands within islands, connected by wooden bridges. From above, the two bridges form a V shape: one connecting the main island Anjwa-do to Bakjido, and the other connecting Bakjido to Banwoldo. Banwoldo is named for its half-moon shape visible from any direction. The highest peak, Eokkaesan (210m), is named for its shoulder-like shape. Bakjido is named because the Park family was the first to settle there; the island’s shape also resembles a gourd, leading to alternate names Bagiseom or Baegiseom. Bakjidangsan is named for a shrine on Bakji-ri's back mountain, called Dangsan by locals. A maritime wooden bridge called the “Purple Bridge” (about 1,500m) links these islands, providing a unique experience walking over the sea between islands. Both Banwoldo and Bakjido feature coastal trails along beautiful seas, suitable for walking or cycling. The Purple Bridge allows visiting three islands—Anjwa-do, Bakjido, and Banwoldo—in one trip. Once unknown islands, Banwoldo and Bakjido were designated “Islands You Want to Visit” by Jeollanam-do, revealing them to the world. At low tide, the islands are surrounded by mudflats; although there are no sandy beaches, they retain their untouched natural beauty.

Duri Ferry Terminal is a small pier located in Duri Village on Anjwa Island, where small fishing boats and passenger ferries connecting the island dock. The Purple Bridge, which connects Duri Village in Anjwa-myeon, Sinan, to Bakji Island, shines in purple as its name suggests. This Purple Bridge connects not only Duri Village and Bakji Island but also Banwol Island, and it is a pedestrian-only bridge. Before the bridge was built, passenger ferries traveling between Anjwa-do, Bakji Island, and Banwol Island came and went through Duri Ferry Terminal. As the gateway to Purple Island, Duri Ferry Terminal has recently become the starting point for many tourists embarking on their Sinan travel.

Purple Bridge is a bridge that embodies the wish of a grandmother who lived her entire life in Parkji Village, Anjwa-myeon, Sinan-gun. The grandmother's heartfelt wish was to walk on foot from Parkji Island to Mokpo while alive. Subsequently, in 2007, a wooden bridge was constructed as part of the New Vitality project, and it came to be called Purple Bridge, symbolizing the 1004 Islands where Banwol and Parkji Islands bloom with abundant purple flowers and crops throughout the four seasons. In the middle of the bridge, there is an octagonal pavilion for rest and a space for fishing. At night, the Bridge of Wishes shines even brighter. In the darkness, only the bright lights unique to Purple Bridge shine, and beneath the bridge, the seawater is full.
