'The nine bends of Honggaedong, a single sky has opened. This mountain and river that have been treasured for a hundred years. A newly built pavilion to rest my body, this is no worldly place but a paradise.' The name Pocheon Valley was born through the poem by Eungwa Yi Wonjo, a representative scholar of the late Joseon Dynasty. It is famous as the place where the pavilion Manguijeong was built next to the waterfall in the upper stream of the valley, where he spent many years. Manguijeong and Pocheon Valley are among the Seongju 10 Views, representing Seongju tourism. In midsummer, many vacationers enjoy playing in the valley near Manguijeong, making it a well-known summer retreat. Like Joseon scholars, visitors can enjoy the pure nature with green mountain scenery and waterfalls as their companions.
