Eongtto is named from 'Eong,' meaning the entrance of a cave. 'Eong' refers to a small cave smaller than a small rock shelter, and 'tto' is a Jeju dialect word expressing an entrance. Eongtto Waterfall hides in the forest, barely visible, but after heavy rain it reveals its majestic appearance. The waterfall reaches a height of 50 meters and harmonizes with the surrounding spectacular cliffs, exuding a unique charm. The valley around the waterfall features a natural warm-temperate forest over a wide area, maintaining evergreen scenery year-round, creating a distinctive beauty of a southern land. Usually, the stream bed is dry, but after more than 70mm of rain in the mountainous region, you can enjoy a plentiful waterfall. Visitors can park at the Eongtto Waterfall parking lot and comfortably approach via a well-maintained deck path, which has several photo zones along the way. An unmanned café also operates at the waterfall. Eongtto Waterfall is part of Jeju Olle Trail course 7-1 and is one of the 70 scenic views of Seogwipo.
Dumbi is the Jeju dialect word for tofu. Located in Gangjeong-dong, Seogwipo-si, Jeju, Dumbi Garden is a tofu restaurant specializing in dishes made from 100% domestically sourced soybeans. They soak domestic soybeans for over 9 hours to make tofu. The tofu is made using a traditional warm soy pulp filtration method, where the soybeans are ground and boiled with soy pulp before separating it, resulting in delicious tofu. The pressure when squeezing the soy pulp is controlled to maintain the texture of the beans. Operating on a same-day production and same-day sales principle, the business closes once the daily supply is sold out. Nearby tourist attractions include Cheonjiyeon, Jeongbang Waterfall, and Oedolgae.
Gangjeongcheon is a 16km-long spring water stream located east of Gangjeong Village, the southernmost village of Seogwipo City, named for its abundant water (江 river, 汀 shore). Natural bedrock water from Hallasan flows all year round, and the stream is home to silver-stripe fish, a grade 1 water species. Additionally, the natural monument mandarin duck can often be seen in groups. Near Gangjeonggyo Bridge, the shallow water makes it ideal for families with children to enjoy water play. Within 5 minutes are Yakcheonsa Temple, Jeju's largest temple, Seogeondo Island accessible only at low tide, and Beomseom Island on Olle Trail Course 7. This area, where beautiful natural scenery and clear water harmonize, offers a unique experience distinct from Jeju's beaches, perfect for cooling off in summer.
Seogeondo is located near the coast adjacent to Jeju World Cup Stadium. Also called the Rotten Island, it is a place where the miracle of Moses occurs, allowing visitors to walk to the island twice a day during low tide. When the sea parts, you can walk from the Seogwipo coast to the island, and while walking to the island, many tourists enjoy catching clams and octopus. If you plan to visit Seogeondo, you need to check the sea parting schedule or tide times. Due to the tidal difference, the front sea opens widely about 10 times a month, especially large during full and new moons, and most prominent during the neap tide period. When the sea parts, mudflats over 10 meters wide are exposed, allowing many people to visit Seogeondo at once and experience a sense of wonder. Pottery fragments, animal bones, and traces of dwellings estimated to be from the 1st century BC were discovered here, attracting archaeological interest. Seogeondo is also valuable as an underwater volcanic island itself. Additionally, abundant spring water originating from Joyi Cave flows into the sea in front of Seogeondo, and this intertidal area is called Neobeunmul. Dolphin pods sometimes appear in the sea in front of the Rotten Island.
