독립공원은 1945년 8월 15일 광복이 될 때까지 수많은 애국지사와 1960년대 정치적 변동을 겪으면서 많은 시국사범들이 수감되었던 서울구치소가 있었던 곳이다. 서울구치소가 1987년 11월 경기도 의왕시로 옮겨감에 따라 감옥 7동, 사형장, 지하여자감옥 등을 복원하고, 탑골공원에서 3·1운동기념탑을 이전하였으며, 1992년 영은문 주초와 연계하여 1992년 8월 15일 독립공원으로 조성하였다.

신촌 플레이버스는 신촌 연세로 스타광장 내에 위치한 이색체험 버스이다. 2층 버스로 이루어졌으며 버스에서 신촌 문화 체험과 음악감상 및 다양한 체험을 할 수 있다. 플레이 버스에서 직접 방송과 공연을 할 수 있고, 영상편지를 띄어 볼 수도 있다. 공연장, 디제이박스, 관광안내, 음악감상실을 갖춘 이색체험 버스이다.
홍대 거리의 공연장 중 하나. 댄스 보다는 공연 위주의 전문 공연장으로 2003년 2월 프로 뮤지션들이 뜻을 모아 만들었다. 프로 뮤지션들이 주축이 된 만큼 무대,음향, 조명 시설 모두 수준급이다. 인디밴드의 기획 공연은 물론 프로에서 아마추어 대관 공연에 이르기까지 폭넓고 다양한 공연이 펼쳐지는 것이 특징이다. 좌석과 스탠딩 모두 합쳐 150여 명이 동시 수용되며 하루에 3~4팀의 인디밴드의 공연을 감상할 수 있다. 한국 인디 음악의 현주소와 홍대 공연 문화의 일면을 체험할 수 있는 곳이다.
