Janghang Market is a traditional five-day market located in Janghang-eup, Seocheon-gun, as its name suggests. Originally, the market was near Wonsuri beside Janghang Middle School, west of its current location, but it moved here to connect with the opening of Janghang Station on the Janghang Line. The market has been a regular spot for fishermen due to the fishing boats entering and leaving Janghang Port, with abundant seafood shipments. Main traded items include seafood, grains, miscellaneous goods, and fishing gear. At its peak, merchants came from distant places such as Nonsan and Ganggyeong using the Geumgang water transport and Janghang Line railway. Although trade activity has declined due to the disruption of Geumgang water transport and relocation of Janghang Station, the market has maintained competitiveness by remodeling and installing a small performance hall for events and performances. In Janghang-eup, besides this market, there are attractions such as Janghang 6080 Food Alley Matnaro, Gibeolpo Cinema, and Janghang Urban Exploration Station in the old Janghang Station building, making it a good area for linked tourism.
