Munheon Seowon is a Confucian academy established to commemorate the scholarship and virtue of Gajeong Yi Gok (1298–1351) and Mokeun Yi Saek (1328–1396). Yi Gok was a late Goryeo scholar and the father of Yi Saek. He passed the Yuan dynasty civil service exam, earning recognition for his abilities and fame. Yi Saek was a late Goryeo official and scholar who supported pro-Ming policies during the Yuan-Ming transition and sought to understand Buddhism from a Confucian perspective. Under his mentorship, prominent figures such as Gwon Geun, Kim Jong-jik, and Byeon Gye-ryang emerged, forming the mainstream of Joseon Neo-Confucianism. This site is renowned for its beautiful natural scenery, especially the magnificent large crape myrtle tree behind Yi Saek's shrine. The crape myrtle blooms from August to September, allowing visitors to appreciate the harmony between traditional Korean architecture and bright crimson flowers. ◎ Travel information to experience the charm of Hallyu - The location was used for filming the scene in the drama where young Dam and Ihwi first meet while trying to grab a cloth hung on the crape myrtle tree. 국립해양생물자원관은 해양생물자원을 체계적으로 보전하고 활용하기 위해 다양한 연구를 수행하며, 다각적인 전시 및 교육을 통해 해양생물자원의 소중함을 알리고 있다. 다양한 해양 생물 전시와 4D 상영, 전시 설명을 제공한다. 해양생물 표본 5,000점을 탑처럼 쌓아올린 1층 로비의 씨드뱅크는 이곳의 상징물이다. 벽 앞에 서면 자신의 머리에 상어가 나타나거나 손이 가재의 집게로 변하는 인터랙티브 미디어월과 정교한 로봇물고기 또한 관람객들의 호기심을 자극한다.

The National Institute of Ecology Ecoriaum exhibits about 1,600 representative flora and fauna from the world's five major climates: tropical, desert, Mediterranean, temperate, and polar, allowing a vivid experience of a living ecosystem. There are also two permanent theme exhibition halls for learning the basic concepts of ecosystems, a special exhibition hall for ecosystem-themed exhibitions, an Eco Lab with ecology education tailored by viewing height, a children's ecology reading room, and a 4D theater. The outdoor exhibition areas include the Geumguri Zone to observe wetland ecosystem features, Hadaram Zone reproducing Korea's forest vegetation by climate zone, Godaeryuk Zone recreating habitats of Korea's representative deer species, Najeojeo Zone for enjoying various wild egrets and ducks, the Eco Care Center for isolation to prevent highly pathogenic avian influenza and protection of internationally endangered species, and a CITES animal protection facility for safeguarding internationally endangered animals from smuggling and illegal trade.

서천 팔경 중의 한 곳인 서면 마랑리 동백나무 숲은 천연기념물 제169호로 지정되어 있다. 이곳에는 5백여 년 수령의 동백나무 85주가 8,265㎡에 울창한 숲을 이루고 있다. 동백나무 숲에 가면 3월 하순부터 5월 초순까지 푸른 잎 사이에 수줍은 듯 피어있는 붉은 동백꽃을 마음껏 감상할 수 있으며, 정상에 있는 동백정에 올라가면 서해의 푸른 바다와 낙조의 아름다움을 한눈에 볼 수 있다. 특히, 바로 앞에 있는 섬인 오력도의 풍경과 어울린 바다의 모습은 한 폭의 동양화를 감상하는 듯한 즐거움을 준다.
