Samcheok Beach is located about 1.4 km from downtown Samcheok and is the largest beach in the area, featuring a spacious white sand shore 1.2 km long and 100 m wide. The beach is surrounded by dense pine forests, with clean sand and shallow waters suitable for swimming for people of all ages. Various auxiliary and convenience facilities are relatively well-equipped. Additionally, neighborhood facilities within the Tema Town are complete, and fresh raw fish sashimi is available. Each year, the beach attracts about 500,000 visitors as a major summer resort, hosting diverse events such as the "Barehand Flounder Catching Contest," drawing significant popularity among tourists.
Haesindang Park, where the only Donghaean phallic worship folk tradition (男根崇拜民俗) has been passed down, consists of a fishing village folk exhibition hall where you can experience the life of fishing villagers and a phallic sculpture park that evokes humorous laughter. Also, the pine tree walking trail and the blue Shinnam Sea along the park create a perfect harmony, making it the largest attraction on the East Coast overflowing with laughter viruses as well as a great place to relieve stress. Sinnam Port is located in Wondeok-eup, Samcheok-si, and is surrounded by Haesindang Park and the Fishing Village Folk Exhibition Hall. Sinnam Port is small but famous for a sad legend of the seaside. It is located on the way down to Haesindang Park, which is good for a walking course, so it is nice to take a walk in the park and then look around the sea. Sinnam Port is famous for its beautiful lighthouse.
Wolcheon Beach is a beach located in Wondeok-eup, about 40 km south of Samcheok-si, situated at the southernmost point of Gangwon-do. It operates as a beach during the summer every year and also opens a campsite covering about 8,264 square meters. The beach is highly attractive due to its beautiful and scenic natural environment. Next to the beach, there is Wolcheon Recreation Area, a village-managed resort focused on camping facilities. It is a great place to visit along with the beach.
