There is a ranch with wide meadows and lingering breeze on Daegwallyeong, which seems to reach the sky. It is the heaven for sheep, Daegwallyeong Sheep Ranch, and the paradise for cows, Samyang Daegwallyeong Ranch. It is the top destination for trips to Daegwallyeong where you can play with sheep on the green pastures and make memories while watching cows leisurely grazing. When the strong winds and harsh cold leave and spring days arrive, you can meet sheep and cows stretching freely on the fresh green pasture. Enjoy feeding the sheep and walking the ranch trail while welcoming the returning sunshine of spring.

This ranch is designated by the Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Livestock as specialized in animal welfare and forest preservation. Sheep freely graze on a vast 205,000㎡ pasture. The ranch completed its first barn in 1989 and introduced the Myeonyang sheep in 1991, growing into Korea's top facility for Myeonyang sheep breeding. There are two main activities at Daegwallyeong Sheep Farm: walking the trail and feeding the sheep. The 1.2 km trail around the ranch takes about 40 minutes. Walking along a path where wild plants grow, visitors can encounter sheep grazing in the pasture. Sheep graze outdoors from mid-May to late October when pasture grass grows, and live inside the barn in winter. At the trail entrance is a famous tree hut photo zone popular on social media. At the trail’s midpoint and the ranch’s summit at an elevation of 920m, the view of the Baekdudaegan mountain range is refreshing. The final trail section offers a feeding experience where visitors can give hay to the sheep inside the barn.

A tourist ranch where you can connect with nature through vast grasslands, the scenery of wind turbines, and peaceful grazing areas for sheep and dairy cows. It is an affiliated ranch of Samyang Foods, which operates the Samyang ramen and Buldak brands, established in 1972 with the purpose of supplying good protein to the public, and opened to tourists in 2007. Along with excellent natural scenery, it is the only ranch in Gangwon-do offering sheep herding performances, and visitors can enjoy feeding sheep and ostriches. The gift shop and cafe offer snacks and ice cream made from organic milk, instant ramen to boil, MD products, local goods, and food items.
Woljeongsa Temple was founded in 643 (the 12th year of Queen Seondeok of Silla) by Monk Jajang on Odaesan, a mountain considered a Buddhist sacred site. It is the head temple of the Jogye Order's 4th district, overseeing more than 60 temples and about 8 hermitages, and holds numerous cultural assets such as the national treasure Eight-angled Nine-story Stone Pagoda, the treasure seated Stone Bodhisattva statue of Woljeongsa, and the wooden seated Manjusri statue. From the temple’s Iljumun gate to Geumgang Bridge, about 1 km, lies a fir forest with approximately 1,700 fir trees. The fir forest is a popular year-round tourist attraction representing the thousand-year-old Woljeongsa Temple, a must-visit spot. Woljeongsa offers temple stays divided into rest and experience types, allowing visitors to recharge body and mind away from the worldly life deep in the mountains. In addition, there is the Woljeongsa Ordained School for laypeople to experience monastic life. Also, Odaesan Meditation Village, shortened to OMV, covers about 99,170㎡ (roughly 14 soccer fields) with lodging, cultural experience facilities, restaurants, gardens, and forest trails, providing a natural retreat for those weary from work and competition to restore their mind and body through meditation. Furthermore, Woljeongsa operates the 9 km Seonjae-gil walking experience from Woljeongsa to Sangwonsa Temple and the Seon Meditation Yoga School with head monk Jeongnyeom and Indian yoga master Sohan.
