서운동산은 1969년부터 조경을 준비하여 1987년 대한민국 관광농원 1호로 개관되었다. 서운동산의 조경수림지역은 호수를 끼고 산책로를 따라 고즈넉한 산책을 즐길 수 있으며 가든레스토랑, 야외 공연장, 어린이 물놀이장, 어린이 체험낚시터, 테마정원, 잔디광장, 어린이 동물원 등이 위치해 있어 자연과 함께 다양한 동물과 곤충들을 체험할 수 있는 시설이 있다. 서운동산은 봄 · 여름 · 가을 · 겨울 4계절의 특성을 살린 조경으로 사계절의 변화를 뚜렷하게 느낄 수 있게 하였으며, 각 특성에 맞추어 밤 줍기, 음악회 등의 계절별 이벤트를 준비하고 있다.
