Tongildongsan Tourist Zone covers approximately 3 million square meters (about 910,000 pyeong) around Tanhyeon-myeon, Seongdong-ri, and Beopheung-ri. The area includes several tourist attractions such as Odu Mountain Unification Observatory, Heyri Village, Cartland, and Premium Outlet, firmly establishing itself as the center for peace tourism on the Korean Peninsula. Through various revitalization policies, the number of domestic and international tourists is expected to increase significantly, greatly benefiting the local economy.
Opened in April 2006, this exotic location is like a small town from southern England transplanted in its entirety, with a land area of 278,252㎡ (about 84,000 pyeong). It consists of a total of 49 buildings and can accommodate around 600 trainees at once. It is open for free visitation by anyone 365 days a year. Various future education programs are offered, including creative and arts education for preparing for future society, makerspace, future special lectures, and the Creative Science Development Experience Center. 타임앤블레드 박물관은 오랜 역사를 자랑하는 시계와 검을 통해 문명과 문화의 흐름을 직접 보고 느낄 수 있는 박물관이 되고자 2008년 개관했다. 18~19세기의 회중시계와 마케도니아, 로마, 중동 지역의 검 1,000여 점을 전시하고 있다.
박물관 1층에는 18세기부터 20세의 다양한 시계들과 시계 부품, 제작도구와 설비 등 시계와 관련된 자료가 다수 전시되어 있다. 천문으로 시간을 측정하던 해시계, 태양계 행성들의 움직임을 볼 수 있는 천체시계, 스위스 장인들의 기계식 회중시계, 화려한 장식을 한 프랑스의 벽시계와 탁상시계, 기술적으로 정교한 독일 시계 등 가지각색의 시계를 직접 만나볼 수 있다.
2층에는 수많은 칼들이 전시되어 있는데, 칼은 인류의 탄생과 함께 한 생존의 도구이면서 각 시대와 각 나라의 문명과 문화를 대표하는 산물이다. 석기시대의 돌칼부터 철기시대의 대검에 이르기까지 인간이 도구를 사용하기 시작하면서 등장한 것이 바로 칼이며, 이를 통해 인류 문명의 근원을 찾을 수 있다. 또한 칼의 역사는 권력과 투쟁의 역사를 대변하기도 한다. 페르시아 다리우스 시대의 칼부터 알렉산더의 마케도니아, 로마제국, 중세 십자군, 스페인의 칼뿐만 아니라 칭기즈칸, 한국, 일본, 인도, 네팔, 우즈베키스탄, 시리아, 예멘, 오만 등 아시아와 중동 이슬람 국가의 다양한 칼이 전시되어 있다.
The Time & Blade Museum features two floors filled with items that have shaped the development of humankind. There are many clocks and watches on display, with the largest hall dedicated to skeleton clocks. The museum also displays the parts that make up a clock and the tools used to create them.
Heyri Art Village spans 150,000 pyeong and is located within the Tongildongsan Tourism Special Zone. Dreaming of being the most beautiful village on earth, about 300 creators and artists from various fields who passed a qualification and review process live together as a community. Heyri is a unique community village that integrates cultural and artistic production, exhibition, sales, and residence. It houses numerous galleries, museums, exhibition halls, performance venues, small theaters, cafes, restaurants, bookstores, guesthouses, art shops, and studios for artists. The name Heyri derives from the call-and-response phrase 'E Hey E Heyri' found in the latter part of a local farming song from Geumsan-ri nearby. Domestically, Heyri was designated as the third cultural district in December 2009 following Insadong (2002) and Daehangno (2004). Architects designed buildings that do not use paint and do not exceed three floors above ground, harmonizing with nature. Thus, a trip to Heyri begins with appreciating its architecture. Buildings with no clear inside or outside, those built on slopes preserving the terrain, and irregularly shaped buildings stand uniquely. Heyri's paths are not straight but follow natural curves without asphalt paving. The best way to explore Heyri Village is to stroll along these roads. While walking, visitors can photograph interesting buildings and enter art galleries encountered to enjoy artworks. Sixty percent of all buildings in Heyri are open to the public as places for creation and cultural enjoyment. This rule benefits visitors the most. Even while guests explore the village, creative activities are underway. Heyri hosts various cultural and artistic events featuring famous domestic and international groups according to the seasons. Therefore, Heyri is known both as a place to visit with dear companions and as a village striving to advance culture and arts. 방송인 황인용이 1997년 서울 평창동 토털 미술관 내에 오픈한 음악감상실 는 2003년 파주 헤이리 예술마을에 한국을 대표하는 건축가 조병수의 디자인으로 새롭게 개관한 후 오늘날까지 2~30대를 비롯해 전 연령층을 아우르며 클래식 음악을 감상하고 공연을 관람하는 공간으로 자리매김해 왔다. 1930년대 미국 극장의 오디오 시스템을 그대로 옮겨온 오리지널 웨스턴 일렉트릭과 독일 클랑 필름 등 4조의 스피커가 뿜어내는 깊고 풍부한 아날로그 사운드가 10미터 높이의 공간을 가득 메우며 감동을 준다. 1만 여장의 LP 음반들이 소장돼 있어 바로크음악부터 현대음악에 이르기까지 시대별 클래식 음악을 차를 마시며 편안히 즐길 수 있다.
