Jeil Kongjip, located in Gongneung-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul, is a long-established restaurant specializing in soybean dishes. Using only domestic soybeans sourced from Hongcheon, Gangwon-do, they grind them by hand with a millstone to serve, resulting in a richer and cleaner taste. They grind only the amount needed daily, ensuring freshness, which is key to their superior flavor. The menu offers various soybean-based dishes such as handmade tofu, soybean soup, cheonggukjang, soft tofu, tofu stew, and kongguksu (cold soybean noodles). Especially popular in summer is the savory and light kongguksu dish. The simple, traditional, and homely flavors evoke the nostalgic taste of a mother's cooking from the past.
