Designated as a local fishing port, Woncheon Port is a harbor located under the Geumsan foothills, a representative tourist destination in Namhae-gun. It is the starting point of the Namhae Barae-gil Main Line Course 10, Aenggang Dasup-gil, and the Woncheon breakwater inside the harbor is one of the famous fishing spots. It is a harbor where you can get a panoramic view of the curved sea called 'Aenggangman,' named for its wave sounds resembling a parrot's cry. Nearby attractions include Namhae Gacheon Darangi Rice Terraces and Geumsan Boriam, and the harbor has seafood restaurants and eateries where you can enjoy anchovy ssambap.
Sangju Silver Sand Beach, with Geumsan's splendid scenery as a long folding screen, is a beach with a wide white sandy shore of silver fine sand surrounded by dense pine forests, preserving one of the few beautiful natural landscapes in the country. Located 21 km south of Namhae-eup, this place has sand with a pleasant barefoot touch, attracting up to one million visitors every summer. The 2 km crescent-shaped white sandy beach has a gentle slope and warm water temperature, making it an ideal summer retreat for families. Additionally, a Summer Festival is held in summer and a New Year's Sunrise Festival in winter. The area also features a traditional vegetable hot dog unique to this location, a popular Instagrammable cafe, and restaurants run by locals, offering abundant sights and activities.
Mijo Port is located in the southernmost part of Namhae-do, the main island of Namhae-gun. The coastal road from Mudgeon-ri in Samdong-myeon to Mijo Port offers stunning views of the sea, islands, and bizarre rock formations, providing a uniquely different atmosphere with the changing seasons, and it is also famous as a fishing spot. Situated at the end of National Route 19, Mijo Port serves as Namhae's fishing base and is a picturesque fishing port where Geumsan and the blue sea harmonize beautifully. Behind Mijo Port, there is a coastal drive route that passes through Pallang Village, Seolli Village, and leads to Songjeong Beach, a must-visit scenic route.
Hangdo Mongdol Beach is a hidden spot where Mijo residents enjoy their leisure time. The Mongdol beach has a shallow depth, making it suitable for swimming. Moksom is considered one of Namhae's hidden scenic spots; when the tide recedes, it reveals a narrow sea path connecting the village, which is why it is called Hangdo, using the character for 'harbor'. With the pier at the center, the right side shows a sandy beach and the left side a pebble field, allowing visitors to feel the tranquility of nature at Hangdo Mongdol Beach. It is also a great place to take a walk along the coast while enjoying the ocean view.
Mulmi Coastal Observatory, a restful spot for travelers, is a popular bunker for those on free journeys. Located near Daejipo village in Samdong-myeon, locals also call it the 'Daejipo Observatory.' Construction began in 2016 and it opened in December 2019. Designed with a lighthouse concept illuminating the Namhae sea, it features a cylindrical shape allowing 360-degree views, letting visitors enjoy the feeling of floating in the sky. It has two floors: the first floor houses a specialty products shop featuring Namhae county's local items, and the second floor consists of a bakery café and rooftop observatory.
Mulgeon-ri Seawall Fishermen's Forest is a forest approximately 1,500 meters long and 30 meters wide along the coast, planted by villagers about 300 years ago. It is an artificially created forest to protect crops and the village from strong sea winds and tsunamis, and also serves as a fishermen’s forest by creating a suitable environment to attract schools of fish. The plants in Mulgeon-ri Seawall Fishermen's Forest include Pujonamu, Sangsurinamu, Neutinamu, Yunnorinamu, Bulknamu, Borisunamu, and Durupnamu, resembling a tree exhibition site. The approximately 10,000 densely planted trees harmonize with the sea to create a beautiful landscape and form the center of Namhaebaraegil Course 6 Jukbangmyeolchi-gil (Namparang-gil Course 39). At the end of the 19th century, some trees were cut down, but a storm that year caused significant damage to the village. Since then, it has been said that harming the forest would bring ruin to the village, and villagers promised to pay fines if they cut trees, thus protecting the forest. Thanks to this, when a major storm hit in 1933, damage was much less compared to neighboring villages, prompting villagers to guard the forest even more diligently. Even now, villagers regard the largest Ipap tree in the forest as the village guardian deity and hold a memorial ceremony on the 15th day of the 10th lunar month every year to pray for the village’s peace. Nearby tourist attractions include the German Village and Mulmi Coast.
