Mulgeon-ri Seawall Fishermen's Forest is a forest approximately 1,500 meters long and 30 meters wide along the coast, planted by villagers about 300 years ago. It is an artificially created forest to protect crops and the village from strong sea winds and tsunamis, and also serves as a fishermen’s forest by creating a suitable environment to attract schools of fish. The plants in Mulgeon-ri Seawall Fishermen's Forest include Pujonamu, Sangsurinamu, Neutinamu, Yunnorinamu, Bulknamu, Borisunamu, and Durupnamu, resembling a tree exhibition site. The approximately 10,000 densely planted trees harmonize with the sea to create a beautiful landscape and form the center of Namhaebaraegil Course 6 Jukbangmyeolchi-gil (Namparang-gil Course 39). At the end of the 19th century, some trees were cut down, but a storm that year caused significant damage to the village. Since then, it has been said that harming the forest would bring ruin to the village, and villagers promised to pay fines if they cut trees, thus protecting the forest. Thanks to this, when a major storm hit in 1933, damage was much less compared to neighboring villages, prompting villagers to guard the forest even more diligently. Even now, villagers regard the largest Ipap tree in the forest as the village guardian deity and hold a memorial ceremony on the 15th day of the 10th lunar month every year to pray for the village’s peace. Nearby tourist attractions include the German Village and Mulmi Coast.
Horticultural Art Village HOUSE N GARDEN was created by actors including Park Won-sook and horticulturists who shared the same vision, fulfilling their lifelong dream of making a beautiful garden and charming village. They built the house and cultivated the garden hoping that visitors would find the home and garden they had dreamed of. After years of effort, personal gardens themed with fragrance, palm trees, sculpture stone arrangements, topiary, vegetables, windmills, spas, flower roofs, and more, along with beautiful paths, ponds, observation decks, octagonal pavilions, fountains, flower paths, flower fences, and greenhouses have been completed. Although it needs a little more time to fully mature, it is presented as a green life proposal for modern people. Additionally, it is well equipped with the latest facilities such as a screening room, performance hall, exhibition hall, experience room, café, and guest house for convenience.
Namhae Cypress Natural Recreation Forest, as its name suggests, is located near the Namhae Sea on the northern end of Hallyeohaesang National Park, featuring dense forests of cypress trees. Opened in 1998, it is situated on the eastern slope of Geumsan Mountain to the north of the park, offering the advantage of enjoying forest bathing along with spectacular views of the Namhae Sea. After passing the forest entrance and breathing the fresh air within the cypress trees, a one-hour walk uphill leads to an observatory where large and small islands of Hallyeohaesang National Park and Geumsan create a beautiful panorama. Within the forest are recreational amenities including forest houses, camping grounds, forest bathing areas, and outdoor classrooms. Climbing Geumsan Boriam Temple allows visitors to feel the traces of the famous Silla monk Wonhyo. From Boriam, passing through the rock cave called Ssanghongmun and descending a roughly one-hour stone staircase leads to the roadside connected to Sangju Beach. In addition, visitors can explore cultural heritage sites such as the Seopo Kim Manjung Historic Site and Chungnyeolsa Shrine.
