This building was the guesthouse of the Naju-mok government office, where ceremonies honoring the king were held on the 1st and 15th of every month, and banquets were held when foreign envoys or high-ranking government officials visited. It was originally built between the 6th and 10th years of King Seongjong's reign (1475–1479) by Yi Yuin, who served as the magistrate of Naju-mok, and has undergone several repairs to reach its current state. The building has five bays at the front, four bays on the side, an octagonal roof, and covers 320.66m² (97 pyeong), making it the largest guesthouse among those across the country. After the Japanese colonial period, it was used as a county office building, which damaged its original form, leading to a complete dismantling and restoration between 1976 and 1977.
Moksanaea, guarded by a hackberry tree, was the residence of the Naju governor during the Joseon Dynasty and remains today along with other official buildings inside Naju Eupseong, including Geumseonggwan (the guesthouse) and Jeongsuru (the government office gate). The building follows the typical style of a naea (inner government residence) and has a ㄷ-shaped hipped roof structure. Although much of the original form was lost during its use as a county magistrate's residence from the Japanese occupation period to the late 1980s, the restored Moksanaea is valued as an important resource for understanding the original style of Joseon Dynasty government architecture.

The Yeongsanpo Lighthouse was built during the Japanese occupation at Yeongsanpo seonchang, the coastal terminus of the Yeongsangang River. This lighthouse is the only one located on an inland river in Korea and was used as a water level observation facility until 1989. Yeongsanpo seonchang was a busy port until the 1960s, where various ships came and went, distributing numerous marine products such as skate and Chuja anchovy jeot. The Hwangpo sailboat refers to a boat with ocher-dyed sails which carried various daily necessities along the seawater flowing through the Yeongsangang waterways. It disappeared after 1977 but was revived in 2008 to its former appearance, carrying memories as it sails up and down the Yeongsangang River. Experiencing the Hwangpo sailboat cruising along the silken waves of the Yeongsangang River is the highlight of a trip to Naju. (Source: Naju City Cultural Tourism Website)
