📍 Gyeongsangbuk-do Mungyeong-si Gaeun-eup Daeya-ro 2441
Mungyeong was once an industrial city with the large Eunseong coal mine. Gaeun Station was the terminus of the industrial railway that transported coal from Eunseong mine. In 2004, the railway was closed and the station was abandoned. Recognizing the neglect of this station, which is designated as a national registered cultural heritage, local residents transformed the closed station into Cafe Gaeun Station. Upon opening the mint-colored door, visitors can see Gaeun Station well preserved in its original architectural style. Behind the station, a 70-year-old poplar tree alongside the railroad adds to the atmosphere. At Cafe Gaeun Station, you can enjoy drinks and desserts made with Mungyeong apples, including apple cookie cream latte, apple mojito, apple & lemonade, apple latte, apple tea, apple juice, apple compote, and apple butter—menus sold exclusively at this location.
