Mungyeong Gaeun Open Set is a drama set located near Gaeun-eup in the western part of Mungyeong-si within Mungyeong Eco World. This set was created by piling up waste stone mined from the former Mungyeong Gaeun coal mine, covering it with soil, and planting trees. Through in-depth historical verification, it realistically reproduces the appearance of ancient and medieval Korea with three royal palaces, 42 tiled houses, 37 houses, and three fortresses, making it suitable for various drama shootings and historical education. There are three filming sites here: the first filming site reproduces Pyeongyangseong, Goguryeo Palace, Silla Palace, Goguryeo village, and Silla village; the second filming site recreates Ansi Fortress and the village inside the fortress; the third filming site reproduces Yodongseong Fortress and its village. From palaces to thatched-roof houses of ordinary people, taverns, and grand fortress gates made to actual size, visitors can feel like they have traveled back in time. It is famous as a filming location for various dramas such as Geuncho Gowang, Jamyeonggo, and Yeongaesomun, and many dramas and movies are still filmed here frequently. In addition to this set, Mungyeong Eco World has the Mungyeong Coal Museum, which can be conveniently visited by taking the Mungyeong Monorail running every 15 minutes from the coal museum to the set. Nearby, there are also National Daeyasan Natural Recreation Forest, Buljeong Natural Recreation Forest, and Mungyeong Saejae, which can be visited in combination.

Mungyeong Eco World is a recreation and cultural space themed around ecology, green energy, and the environment, combining video and cultural content in Mungyeong, the center of eco-friendly green culture and home to the core content of Baekdudaegan ecological resources.
