Juhulsan⛰️ 1108 m

Introduction

[A mountain as splendid as Samgaksan] It is an outstanding mountain with a legend that it once competed with Samgaksan for the title of Seoul's guardian mountain but eventually descended. The ridge extending from the summit to the southern peak, exceeding 1,000 meters, is particularly remarkable, resembling the magnificent ridge from Baegundae to Bohyeonbong of Samgaksan. The main hiking trails radiate in six directions around the main peak known as the 1057 Peak, among which the ridge passing through Juhulyeong Peak and Bubong to Donghwawon Road is especially beautiful. The route descending to Haneuljae via Wolhang Sambong is also good; from Wolaksan, the sky line between these two appears dynamic like a rhythmic gymnastics ribbon. The mountain's steep rises mean there are no well-developed valleys. Instead, features like Yeogung Waterfall and Parangso in Gokchunggol, and the flower fields in Jogokgol are distinctive. The azaleas blooming sparsely among the rocky scree are rare to find elsewhere. Mungyeong Saejae, designated as a provincial park, is famous not only for its gateways Juhulgwan, Jogokgwan, and Joryeonggwan but also as a natural promenade. Recently, the Wang Geon drama set and a mountain film festival have been added to the area.
