Introduction

만어사 앞 너덜겅에 지천으로 깔려있는 물고기 형상의 돌들이 널려 있어 장관을 이루고 있는데, 이것이 밀양 신비로 분류된 경석이다. 크고 작은 반석들은 모두 경쇠소리가 나며, 이는 동해의 물고기와 용이 돌로 변한 것이라 전하고 있다. 한반도 빙하기가 끝난 후 많은 비가 내려 이곳의 암석들이 양파가 벗겨지듯 침식·풍화되며 생성된 암괴류로, 700m 이상 길게 펼쳐지며 독특하고 아름다운 모습을 보이는 등 학술적, 경관적 가치가 크다. 견고한 요새처럼 만어사 일대를 둘러싸고 있다. 바위의 크기는 각각 다르지만, 색깔은 검거나 회색 등으로 동일하고, 손에 쥘 수 있는 돌멩이로 두드린 자국을 때리면 마치 길고 긴 여운을 남기는 듯한 맑은 종소리를 들을 수 있다.
