Gijang Kkeutjip Jukseong Main Branch | Restaurant Guide

When entering Woljeon Village in Gijang, you will find eel grill restaurants lined up and the Woljeon live fish market with parking nearby. The eel grill restaurants around here are collectively called Woljeon Eel Grill Village. The live fish market sells fresh sea eels (bongjangeo) caught that day. If you select an eel at the market, you can have it grilled over charcoal at a tent bar outside with the same restaurant name as the one where you bought it. Although the tent bars are shabby and offer a sea view, many visitors return, unable to forget the smell of grilled eel and the fishing village atmosphere. By paying only a table setting fee, charcoal and a grill are provided, and you can buy and eat as much as you want from the live fish market. Spicy fish stew is also good to eat with the grilled eel.

Woljeon Port is a cozy harbor located in Gijang-gun, Busan. Around the port, there are small sashimi restaurants and grilled eel houses clustered together. At Woljeon Breakwater, you can see anglers securing their spots from early dawn to enjoy fishing. The Woljeon Lighthouse, built at the end of the breakwater, has been lit since September 2009. Unlike other lighthouses, its first and second floors operate as observatories, making it a great place to enjoy the view.

Located in Gijang-gun, Busan, Jukseong Church is a drama set built for the SBS drama "Dream (2009)." The drama aired a long time ago and is forgotten, but this well-made space has become a must-see for travelers visiting Gijang. The inside of the cathedral is operated as a gallery, and visitors can encounter a pleasant surprise when there is an ongoing exhibition. Perhaps thanks to its location in a small fishing village, it retains a unique atmosphere. The seaside landscape is like a painting from the Middle Ages. The white foam breaking over the rocks contrasts with the red roof of the church and catches the attention of those who visit this place at a glance. The place where most people wait in line at Jukseong Church is a photo spot decorated with a picture frame structure. The blue sea and sky in the frame create a beautiful background.

Jukseong Port is relatively simple and small compared to other ports in Busan. Around the port, houses are scattered, and fishing nets hang on the walls, creating the atmosphere of a 70s-80s fishing village. It is common to see anchovies drying throughout the port, and small boats are docked at the small breakwater. Along the coast of Jukseong Port, there is the fairytale-like Jukseong Cathedral. It is not an actual cathedral but a drama filming set for Dream. As a specialty of Jukseong Port, tourists frequently visit without ceasing.

Opened in 1984, Soreumyo is located in an excellent site in Jukseong-ri, Gijang, overlooking Hwanghakdae, where Yun Seondo was exiled, and Guksudang, where national ancestral rites were held. It is engaged in reproducing deteriorating Goguryeo murals on ceramics, and paintings by artists who illuminated Goryeo Buddhist paintings and Joseon-era painters including Kim Hong-do are also reproduced on ceramics with explanations of the works.
