Ilgwang Beach is a beach located in Gijang-gun, known as one of the eight scenic spots of Gijang due to its beauty. The sandy shore begins from where the Icheon River and Icheonpo meet and extends in a circle-like shape to Hak-ri fishing port. Hundreds-year-old pine trees once densely surrounded the white sand beach, but they have now disappeared. Also, at the right end of the beach lies Hak-ri village, where as the name suggests, cranes once flew in groups over the pine trees, although this sight has also largely disappeared. Additionally, in the middle of the white sand beach is Samseongdae, where it is said that three sages from the late Goryeo period—Jeong Mong-ju, Yi Saek, and Yi Sung-in—enjoyed the scenery. Nearby attractions include Guksudang, Namsan Bongsudae, and Hwanghakdae.

Ilgwang Beach is a popular beach for families with a white sandy beach and Gangsongjeong Pine Tree Forest. With shallow waters and a clear view of the ocean, there is also Samseongdae Pavilion built during the late Joseon dynasty. There are numerous accommodation, dining and convenience facilities near the beach as well as a place to fish. Moreover, Ilgwang Beach hosts a festival annually in late July or early August.

Hakri Port, located in Hakri, Ilgwang-myeon, Gijang-gun, Busan Gwangyeoksi, is an old fishing harbor on the Gijang coast. It is the third largest port in Gijang-gun, following Daebyeon Port, famous for anchovies, and Chilam Port, known for sashimi, and has a breakwater built to protect fishing boats. It distributes and sells live fish and offers a walking path along the coastal road connecting Hakri fishing village and Ilgwang Beach to the north. It is also the first place in the country to produce seedling stock and successfully cultivate seaweed such as miyeok and dashima. The harbor’s landscape is characterized by large and small breakwaters and red and white lighthouses.
