The Land and Housing Museum is a specialized museum themed on the housing architecture culture and civil engineering technology of our nation. It first opened in 1997 in Bundang, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, and was relocated and refurbished in Jinju in 2015. In 2022, a new Housing and Urban History Hall was established, expanding space and content to create an open historical and cultural space for all. The first floor's Urban History Hall traces the revolutionary post-Korean War housing culture changes from Yeongdan housing and Mapo apartments to the birth of an inclusive city, showing today's housing and urban development. The second floor’s first exhibition hall focuses on wisdom-built lives and lands cultivating happiness, helping understand Korea's housing culture history, and features five life-size reconstructed houses from ancient to modern times displayed with artifacts. The second exhibition hall reveals the flow of Korean architectural technology through building materials and tools. A special exhibition hall for the museum's collection is located on the second floor, and various educational programs like museum university, children’s culture classes, traveling museum, and weekend museum are offered.
