한국 전통문화전당은 한국을 대표하는 전통문화중심 도시 전주에 설립돼 이를 지역적 차원에서 총괄하고 견인하기 위해 운영되는 문화 예술기관이다. 우리 고유의 훌륭한 전통문화를 계승, 발전시키고 융, 복합 형태로 재창조하는 과정을 통해 전통문화를 대중화, 산업화, 세계화시키고자 노력하고 있다. 한옥, 한식, 한지, 한소리, 한글 등의 한(韓) 문화를 지켜가고 현대에 접목시켜 미래문화산업을 발전시키기 위한 전통문화 사업을 지원하며, 한 문화 관련 교육 및 체험 프로그램에 참여할 수 있다. 한국 전통문화의 전당은 한지산업지원센터, 전통문화 창조센터, 한식창의센터를 운영하며 각 센터에서 전시관람 및 체험이 가능하다.
