Bijarim, protected as a natural monument, covers an area of 448,165㎡ and is home to about 2,800 Bijanamu trees aged 500 to 800 years. The trees reach heights of 7 to 14 meters, diameters of 50 to 110 cm, and canopy widths of 10 to 15 meters, forming a rare global cluster of large Bijanamu trees. Historically, the Bijanamu seeds, called Bija, were widely used as an anthelmintic, and the wood's quality made it suitable for luxury furniture and Go boards. Bijarim is also a natural habitat for rare orchids such as Nado-pungnan, Pungnan, Kongjjagaeran, Heuknancho, and Bijaran. The dense, lush forest offers a healing forest bath that improves vascular flexibility, relieves mental and physical fatigue, and restores the body's rhythm. Nearby are striking parasitic volcanoes like Wollangbong, Abuo-reum, and Yongnuni-reum, providing excellent natural scenery and courses ideal for light hiking and exercise, especially popular as film locations.
Located in Gujwa-eup, Yongnuni Oreum is the only one among about 360 oreums with three craters. In spring and summer, it is covered with grass, and in autumn and winter, with silver grass, changing its appearance with the seasons. The soft ridges resemble the curves of the human body and are uniquely beautiful, attracting many photographers. The center is deeply sunken, named Yongwaak (Dragon Lying Peak) meaning the place where a dragon lay, Yongyuak (Dragon Playing Peak) meaning the place where a dragon played, and Yonganak (Dragon Eye Peak) as it looks like a dragon’s face; from above, the crater even resembles a dragon's eye. Unlike other oreums, Yongnuni Oreum is connected by three ridges and presents a generally soft impression. Its gentle slope makes it easy to walk for people of all ages. In autumn, when the silver grass blooms, it is also famous as a spot for small wedding photo shoots. Located at the eastern end, on clear days, it offers views of Seongsan Ilchulbong and Udo far away, along with nearby Darangshi Oreum and Jimibong. A walk around the oreum’s three craters takes about one hour, providing optimal conditions to enjoy the surrounding scenery. Nearby are many oreums including Sonji Oreum, Darangshi Oreum, and Eundari Oreum.
Wangilbeonji Restaurant is a black pork bulgogi specialty restaurant located near Seongeup Folk Village, serving dishes made with Jeju bracken and Jeju black pork. Certified as a safe restaurant by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, it offers an exquisite combination of black pork bulgogi, bracken, and shiitake mushrooms. The restaurant was taken over by the owner's younger sibling and spouse from the former Old Jeongui-gol restaurant, famous for black pork dishes, and continues its taste under the new name. The restaurant features a modern large building, clean interior, and a complete parking lot, making it convenient for groups and popular among many visitors.
Starting with land purchase in 2000, the Herb Garden has been created over about 5 years on a 59,504m² (18,000 pyeong) site. Currently, it features various gardens and small hills filled with approximately 180 species of herbs and wildflowers native to Korea, as well as a 611.6m² (2,000 pyeong) experiential citrus farm, forming a diverse theme park. Additionally, there is a walking path winding through the Herb Garden, a herb shop selling herb-related products, a cafe offering various fusion dishes using herbs, and a herb experience center for sharing knowledge and providing more experiences. These facilities make it a comfortable resting place suitable for couples, families, or corporate groups for nature learning, dating courses, workshops, and other purposes. Six lodging buildings designed to enjoy the charm of the Herb Garden are situated among the herb gardens, providing an optimal environment for a pleasant and comfortable trip. From any second-floor bedroom, guests can view the sunrise and the sea, with Hallasan mountain visible behind. The Herb Garden’s main theme is 'Rest (休)', a comfortable and quiet relaxation like a spring afternoon. It aims to shake off the fatigue of hectic daily life and tense city living, providing rest for body and mind, a slow life with no rush, a leisure granted by God as one of humanity’s gifts to be fully enjoyed.
'Eong' is a Jeju dialect word meaning hill, and Namwon Keuneong is named so because it is a hill with a large rock that seems to open its mouth wide as if to swallow the sea. The cliff top is a flat area covered with soft grass. Facing the sea, the 30m high and 200m long scenic cliff embraces two natural caves carved by relentless waves over time. Witnessing them gives a feeling of being in another world apart from the mundane, inspiring a sense of untouched nature. Along the coastal cliff, there is a 2 km walking trail, an observatory, a simple resting area, basic fitness facilities, and restrooms. It is popular as a rocky fishing spot, a quiet resting place, and a dating course for couples. Nearby tourist attractions include Shinyeong Film Museum, Pyoseon Beach, and Seopjikoji.
