[The site of the unification of the Three Kingdoms, the guardian mountain of Daegu] Palgongsan, the central mountain of Silla, is the ancestral mountain of Daegu mountaineers and the foremost place of Yaksa faith. The name comes from its span across eight villages: Daegu, Chilgok, Indong (currently around Gumi Inui-dong), Sinnyeong, Uiheung, Yeongcheon, Hayang, and Gyeongsan. The main ridge from Gasan to Gatbawi is 26 km long. At its base are many famous temples, including Pagyesa, Buinsa, Donghwasa, Eunhaesa, and the Second Seokguram Grotto.
