Yongdae Maebawi Artificial Waterfall is a famous attraction in Inje known as a winter ice climbing spot. In summer, the cool sound of water pleases the ears, and in winter, white ice pillars form, bringing the village to life with people enjoying ice climbing. Ice climbing against the giant ice pillars offers thrilling excitement and a high sense of achievement, providing a special enjoyment hard to experience in other sports. This place, where winter ice walls form, also boasts excellent natural scenery and is popular for photography, becoming an increasingly popular tourist destination.

The Baekgol Regiment Monument, located in Yongdae-ri, Bukmyeon, Inje-gun, Gangwon-do, commemorates the Baekgol Regiment, Korea’s first guerrilla unit established with 640 members. These soldiers contributed to allied operations by harassing enemy forces in Seoraksan, earning distinction for their achievements. The monument was erected to honor their sacrifices and pray for the repose of the patriotically fallen soldiers. At the entrance where the monument stands, there is not only the main monument but also a founding statement praising the regiment’s noble spirit of sacrifice and glorious achievements, which draws attention. Additionally, on the left side, there are memorial stones established by the Baekgol Regiment Commemorative Association and, in 2003, a memorial for the nameless soldiers of the Baekgol Regiment, marking the 52nd anniversary of their participation and return to victory. Located near the summit of Jinburi Pass on the northern side of the Taebaek Mountains, forming the spine of the Korean Peninsula, it is situated by National Park Seoraksan and National Road 46 leading to the East Sea. This recreation forest lies at the northernmost point near the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), at an altitude of 600m, surrounded by dense forest, with valley water so cold in midsummer that one cannot keep their feet in for more than 10 minutes. The forest consists mostly of mixed natural stands of deciduous trees and oak, elm, birch, pine, and other species harmonizing naturally, with diverse tree species that create beautiful natural scenery such as greenery, autumn foliage, and snow-covered landscapes depending on the season. Clear and clean waters flow along large and small valleys formed by Maebongsan (altitude 1,271m) and Chiljeolbong (altitude 1,172m) through the center of the forest, where natural monument species such as the Korean trout (Yeolmogeo) and various wild animals live. Yeonhwadong, the recreational forest, has a terrain shaped like a 'lotus water pattern,' resembling a lotus flower floating on the water. Nearby attractions include Baekdamsa Temple, Sibiseonnyeotang, Jangsu-dae, and Daeseung Waterfall within Seoraksan National Park, along with East Sea tourism areas, making it suitable as a stay-type resort connected with nearby tourist spots. Inje-gun hosts festivals such as the Icefish Festival in January, Gorosoe Festival in March, Dried Pollack Festival in May, and Leisure Sports Festival in July, while the Hapgang Cultural Festival and other local festivals take place in October. It is recommended to enjoy the festivals in season and have a comfortable rest in the recreational forest.
