[Osaek Mineral Spring in Seoraksan Observatory] Jeombongsan is located near Osaek Hot Springs and mineral springs but had been overshadowed by Seorak Mountain's grandeur. However, in autumn, the area is renowned for its fall foliage, featuring Jujeongol Valley, reminiscent of a miniature Gayadong, and rugged rocks similar to Seorak's Cheonbuldong. The mountain's old name was Deombungsan, and a smaller peak encountered when ascending from Gombaeryeong is called Small Deombung. The Osaek mineral spring at Jeombongsan contains iron-rich carbonated water, known for its benefits against stomach ailments, neuralgia, and anemia. Hiking routes start from Osaek, Hangyeryeong, Gwidun, and Jindong-ri, but as of 2006, only the section from Osaek Mineral Spring through Yongso Waterfall, Jujeongol, Twelve Waterfalls, to Heullimgol is accessible.
The starting point is Yangyang. Yangyang to Osaek: city and intercity buses (via Hangyeryeong) operate 15 times daily. From Hyeonnam IC on Yeongdong Expressway, take Route 7 towards Yangyang, then at the Yangyang entrance intersection, take Route 44 towards Osaek.
