Inje Hyanggyo is a hyanggyo located in Inje-gun, established as a public educational institution to perform rituals for Confucius and various sages, and to provide education and cultural guidance to local people. It is estimated to have been built between the 7th year of King Taejo of Joseon (1398) and the 7th year of King Taejong (1407), though the exact date is unknown. It was destroyed during the Japanese invasions of 1592–1598 and rebuilt in the 2nd year of King Gwanghaegun's reign (1610), then relocated several times thereafter. A great flood in 1930 destroyed Daeseongjeon, Myeongnyundang, Dongjae, and Seojae, after which it was moved to its current location four years later. During the Korean War, most buildings except Daeseongjeon were lost, but Daeseongjeon was restored and Myeongnyundang, Naesammun, Dongjae, Seojae, and Sammunru were rebuilt. The main buildings of Inje Hyanggyo now are Daeseongjeon, Myeongnyundang, Dongjae, Seojae, and Sammunru. Daeseongjeon enshrines memorial tablets of Confucius and Confucian scholars from China and Korea, while Myeongnyundang served as the lecture hall where students attended classes and took exams. The hyanggyo is managed by one Jeongyo and multiple Jangui. Inje Hyanggyo still holds Seokjeon rites in spring and autumn, and monthly incense offerings on the first and fifteenth days of the lunar calendar. It also provides classical Chinese lessons for students during school vacations. Situated between Inje Middle School and Inje Catholic Church, it is a place where visitors can take a walk and experience the history and culture of ancestors.

Hapgangjeong Pavilion 4

Hapgangjeong Pavilion, located in Hapgang 2-ri, Inje-eup, is named after Hapgang, where the Naerimcheon and Inbukcheon rivers merge. It is the first pavilion in the Inje area, built in 1676 (the 2nd year of King Sukjong's reign) and rebuilt in 1756 (the 32nd year of King Yeongjo's reign) after being destroyed by fire. Next to Hapgangjeong Pavilion is Gangwon-do Jungangdan, an altar made during the Joseon Dynasty. Jungangdan is an altar at the center of each province in the Joseon era where special rituals were held to appease spirits who had died unjustly or had been neglected in rites to prevent epidemics or droughts. Gangwon-do Jungangdan is known to have held these rituals until around 1843.
