Introduction

If Sokcho has Manseok Dakgangjeong, Incheon has Sinpo Dakgangjeong! Frequently featured as a regular favorite on TV eating shows, Sinpo Dakgangjeong is the original Incheon dakgangjeong spot that travelers visiting Incheon never miss. Located inside Sinpo International Market in Jung-gu, Incheon, you can find it simply by spotting the always-long line without needing to look for a signboard. There are separate lines for dining in and takeout, with waits of about 40 minutes on weekdays and three to four times longer on weekends. Established in 1985, Sinpo Dakgangjeong is so delicious that no one’s will to wait is broken despite the long lines. The chicken is fried two to three times in a high-temperature cauldron installed in front of the shop, then the freshly fried crispy chicken is mixed well with spicy seasoning over a high flame. It is finished by generously adding Cheongyang peppers and sprinkling peanut powder. Since the entire cooking process is done outside continuously, customers can watch entranced. This dakgangjeong sells out quickly due to its fast turnover, making it inevitably tasty, and it is said to taste even better once cooled.
