Songhyeon Market is a traditional market located north of Dongincheon Station. It naturally formed in the early 1960s as the number of displaced people who lost their hometowns after the Korean War and immigrants looking for jobs in the city increased. The market mainly deals in agricultural and livestock products, seafood, processed foods, and daily necessities. Large apartment complexes have been built around the market, providing a steady group of regular customers, and nearby Songhyeon Free Market and Jungang Market create a well-distributed commercial area. In 2008, Songhyeon Market was selected as a cultural tourism market, leading to the installation of an arcade in the market alley and the paving of sidewalks with concrete blocks for a neat and clean feeling. Additionally, there is a nearby park where visitors can rest, making it a leisurely and cultural atmosphere unlike typical traditional markets. The name 'Songhyeon' comes from Solgogae. Between Songnim-dong and Songhyeon-dong is a pine hill called Solgogae, which written in Hanja is 松峴 (Songhyeon). (Source: Incheon Tour)
