Located in Hampyeong, famous for Hanwoo beef, Hwarang Restaurant is renowned for its yukhoe (raw beef) made from lean cuts such as thigh or rump meat. The yukhoe topped with savory sesame oil is served, along with yukhoe bibimbap mixed with an appropriate amount of gochujang, a couple of pinches of pork fat (as done traditionally in Hampyeong), and choice of radish or fresh kimchi. The clear seonji soup served as a basic side is also highly flavorful. The restaurant is known for fresh ingredients in raw meat, grilled dishes, nakji bibimbap, live octopus, and more. Nearby is Hampyeong Terminal and the Hampyeong Cheonji traditional market, where the oil market is held, making transportation convenient and the area full of attractions.
